Popular Nigerian comedian, Ayodeji Makun, better known as AY, has broken his silence on the cause of the feud between him and his colleague, Bright Okpocha, a.k.a Basketmouth.

The comic actor had in 2022, during a question and answer session on his Instagram page, stated that Basketmouth has an “uncontrollable superiority complex”.

AY is, however, currently trending on social media following a tell-all interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, where he opened up on the 17-year-old feud.

Shedding more light on his controversial statement in 2022, AY said he was excluded from the list of guests invited to Basketmouth’s wedding in 2006.

According to him, when he and his wife arrived at the venue, his wife’s name was on the guest list, while his name was conspicuously missing.

“I was looking at my wife, my wife dey look her husband and she was like okay, let’s be going home since you no qualify to enter,” AY said.

The thespian went on to allege there were times that Basketmouth would often refuse to introduce him at events where they were both billed to perform.

“Basket will be at an event, maybe AY is on the Bill, he won’t introduce me if he’s the MC. I will just go and pick my mic on the floor and go and do my thing. It was that bad,” the comedian added.

AY also recounted an incident that happened at a time when things had significantly picked up for both of them career-wise and family-wise.

He had spotted Basketmouth at a club and approached him for a chat to try and end their long-time feud, but he bluntly told him off saying “‘I’m a beast, I don’t forgive.”
