Atiku in US to meet with American Chamber of Commerce – PDP

In the entourage of Atiku to US as he meets with the American chamber of Commerce are former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha; former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki; Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, among others.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday said its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, travelled to the U.S. to meet with the American Chamber of Commerce.

The opposition party said the trip was part of Atiku’s engagement with global investors.

In a tweet on Friday via its verified Twitter handle, @OfficialPDPNig, the party said, “#AtikuOkowa2023: The @OfficialPDPNig Presidential Candidate, @Atiku is currently in the United States of America.

“While in the US, the former Vice President is scheduled to meet with the American Chamber of Commerce, as part of his engagement with investors oversea to build an economically stronger and more secure Nigeria if he is elected as president in 2023. #WeWantPDPBack #OneNigeria.”

Atiku had cancelled his presidential campaigns for the trip.

In his entourage are former Governor of Imo State and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha; former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka; former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki; former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu; Senator Dino Melaye; chairman of DAAR Communications Limited, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, among others.

The meeting with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, November 1, from 9.30 am to 10.30 am at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Washington DC.

It is not yet clear when Atiku will be back to the country to continue with his campaigns.

TheNiche was also yet to confirm his other engagements as at the time of filing this report.
