Atiku commiserates with Pastor Odukoya over his wife’s death

Former Vice President and PDP chieftain, Atiku Abubakar has sent a condolence message to the senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya who lost his wife recently. 

The news of the demise of the wife of the pastor broke in the early hours of Tuesday when the church announced that she died in London, after battling cancer for over two years.

A statement by the church on Tuesday evening confirmed the sad incident.

It reads: “With deep regret and gratitude to God, we have to announce the passing of our Senior Pastor’s wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya.

“She battled cancer for the better part of 2 years, she stood on the Word of God, and she fought.

“We loved her with all our heart, but who are we to fight with the will of God.

“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Pastor Nomthi”.

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya married her in January 2010, five years after the death of his first wife Pastor Bimbo Odukoya on December 10, 2005, in a plane crash.

In a message via his verified Twitter account, Atiku expressed sadness with the news of the death of Pastor Nomthi Odukoya. 

He also sent his condolences to the Odukoya family, Friends, and loved ones, he also prayed for the repose of her soul.    

“I am profoundly saddened by the death of Pastor Nomthi Odukoya, the wife of Snr Pastor @pastortaiwo of The Fountain of Life Church. On behalf of my family, I express my deepest condolences to the Odukoya family, friends & loved ones and pray that her soul finds a gentle repose.” Atiku tweeted. 

Taiwo Odukoya is a Nigerian Pentecostal pastor. He is the senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church situated in Ilupeju, Lagos.

The church’s membership strength is said to be over 8,000 people. Odukoya was on June 15, 1956, in Kaduna state.
