254,902 PVC holders disenfranchised

PDP Campaign Committee Director General Yusuf Suleiman implored the INEC to look into the issue of more than 400 polling units cancelled in the state, per reporting by The PUNCH.

He said about 300,000 voters were disenfranchised and their votes could go for any of the political parties.

APC Presidential Campaign Council Director General Maigari Dingyadi said politicians should not quote figures without recourse to the INEC.

Dingyadi, who is also Police Affairs Minister, asked the INEC to investigate the circumstances that led to the cancellation of the results.

A total 133 registration areas were affected with 471 polling units in the cancellation, according to Bala.

He disclosed the affected areas disenfranchised 301,499 registered voters with 254,902 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected.
