Atiku celebrates Obi at 62, Obidients react
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election, Atiku Abubakar, has wished his counterpart in the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, a happy 62nd birthday.
The gesture by Atiku, has earned him the praises of Obi supporters who are called Obidients.
Atiku and Obi were allies in the 2019 presidential election. In the 2023 election, they went their separate ways, thereby splitting the votes of the opposition which many analysts say paved the way for the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This has led to a rancorous relationship between supporters of the two candidates.
In marking Obi’s birthday, Atiku tweeted on his verified Twitter handle, @atiku: “Happy 62nd birthday to @PeterObi, a respected leader and distinguished former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Your dedication to service and growth continues to inspire. As you add another year today, I, on behalf of my family and team wish you many more years in good health and vitality. -AA”
The supporters of Obi who are easily identified with their signature LP logo as their display photo on Twitter, immediately showered Atiku with praise.
@LawrenceOkoroPG said: “Sir you just earned my follow with this tweet. Your choice of Photo is superb. Thanks for the wishes. We appreciate.”
@veenausteen said: “Thank you AA, you’re a true leader irrespective of the political state of the nation. OBIDIENTS celebrate your maturity and love for our principal PO.”
