The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, has said the emergence of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso as the presidential candidates of Labour Party (LP) and New Nigerian People Party (NNPP) respectively will not hinder his chances of winning the February 25, presidential election.

He also hinted at the possibility of working with the two candidates in a bid to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the former Vice President, he had a meeting with the Labour Party candidate and that of the New Nigerian People Party and the parley was a very successful one.

He said, “Although, I see no threat in any of them but we are in talks, and the discussion might yield a positive result that will see one of them coming.”

Speaking on the breakaway faction in his party, PDP, he said just like the G5, other parties have their internal crisis too, he, however, assured the crises will be resolved very soon.

He also argued that election in Nigeria has moved beyond when the governor of a state dictates how the electorates will vote

“Each party has its internal crisis, we are still talking with them. Most are neither in PDP nor in other parties and definitely that will not make us lose the election because we are okay with the election preparations for now.

“Election now is not like in the past when a governor will dictate who to vote for, election today is in the hands of the voters,” Atiku added.
