ASSBIFI elects new president, other exco

Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institution (ASSBIFI) has elected and sworn in Comrade Olusoji Oluwole as the 10th national president.

The new president who succeeded comrade Oyinkan Olasanoye, the erudite Amazon of ASSBIFI was sworn in at the just concluded 11th Triennial National Delegates’ Conference held, 25th – 26th November, 2022.

Comrade Olusoji Oluwole was elected and sworn in as the 10th National President of the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institution (ASSBIFI) at the just concluded 11th Triennial National Delegates’ Conference held, 25th – 26th November, 2022 at Ogere, Ogun State.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected National President thanked the Delegates, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Former ASSBIFI National Presidents and Veterans and others who witnessed the elections. He vowed to continue the growth and development of ASSBIFI, started by his predecessors.

He invited all senior employees in the financial sector to join ASSBIFI as the rights and privileges of workers are most protected under the union, and promised to sustain the cordial relationship between ASSBIFI and all its local and international partners.

In a follow up statement to stakeholders, the National President implored the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) to intervene and impress it on Employers and Managements in Nigerian Financial Sector to review the Sector-Wide Collective Bargained Agreement (CBA), which expired since 2007.

He noted that some of the conflicts in the Sector would have been nipped in the bud, if the CBA had been reviewed, stating that the continued delay in reviewing the CBA may force the Labour Movement to report Nigeria at the next International Labour Conference of the ILO.

He stated that his administration would be all inclusive, transparent and centered on welfare, rights and privileges and life-after-work of Members.

Ransome Olufemi Sanni – National Welfare Officer I

Chinatu Iregbeyen – National Welfare Officer II

Isah Agbonika – National Publicity/Social Secretary

Abolarin Joel Adedeji – Joint Negotiating Council Member I

Paulinus Chikwendu Ojukwu – Joint Negotiating Council Member II

Felix Dahunsi – Joint Negotiating Council Member III

Oluyemisi Oyejide – Chairperson, ASSBIFI Women Commission

The next Triennial National Delegates Conference would hold in 2025 at Ibadan, Oyo State.
