Arteta insists he does not regret missing out on Mount

Arteta said so while replying a question on Mount’s decision to join the Red Devils instead of the Gunners

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, ahead of Saturday’s friendly game against Premier League rivals, Manchester United at the MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, United States, has said he doesn’t regret missing out on signing England international, Mason Mount.

The Gunners were keen on signing the former Chelsea midfielder, after it became apparent that he was bent on leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

However, the 24-year-old Englishman eventually decided against committing his future to Chelsea’s London rivals, Arsenal but instead, chose to move to Old Trafford.

Arteta, after missing out on him, later decided to bring in German international, Kai Havertz, who was Mount’s former team-mate at Chelsea.  

Havertz, along with fellow new boys, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice are expected to face Man United this evening and Arteta has insisted he is happy with Arsenal’s business this summer.

The Spanish tactician, while replying a question on Mount’s decision to join the Red Devils instead of the Gunners ahead of the friendly encounter said: “We are so happy with the players that we’ve signed and the players that we’ve got in our squad,”
