Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has applauded the performance of English youngster, Max Dowman during the club’s two pre-season matches, saying, “We are extremely happy to have him”.
He hailed the midfielder on Sunday while speaking to reporters after the Gunners’ 3-2 win over Newcastle United.
The 15-year-old, who was introduced to Arsenal’s first team during pre-season activities, has enjoyed a brilliant start.
He was impressive coming off the bench against AC Milan and Newcastle United.
He earned the North London side the penalty which ultimately led to the defeat of Newcastle.

After the encounter, Arsenal fans took to social media platform X to likened Dowman to football legend, Lionel Messi.
When asked if the attacking midfielder impressed him after the match, Arteta admitted that the club has a special talent on their hands.
He said, “Yeah, it is special. Obviously what he’s done today against this team in the time that he had on the pitch is something certainly not common to witness for a 15-year-old.
“We are extremely happy to have him. I think again the environment that he’s around in. His family, the people at the club and around the academy as well, super helpful because they put him into this position so early in his journey, having a real chance and a real presence when he plays for the first time.”
