North London outfit, Arsenal, continued their impressive run of form with a confident victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice were on target as the Premier League leaders coasted to a 2-0 triumph over their disciplined host.

Gyokeres opened the scoring for Arsenal, heading home his fourth league goal of the campaign from a typically brilliant Gunners set-piece.

Rice, who was influential in that opener, then doubled the visitors’ lead 10 minutes before the break with a thumping header from a fine Gunners breakaway.

With the result, Mikel Arteta’s men extended their winning streak to nine matches in all competitions, moving seven points clear of second-placed Bournemouth at the top of the Premier League table.

However, the result came at a cost as there was concern over Gyokeres, who was forced off at halftime with a muscle injury.

The Swedish forward’s performance in the first half was one of his most influential displays yet, combining strength, movement, and clinical finishing.

He also played a key role in the build-up to Rice’s goal. But the joy was short-lived after he failed to return for the second half, prompting fears of a potential injury layoff at a crucial stage of the season.

Speaking after the match, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta confirmed that Gyokeres would undergo medical checks to assess the extent of his injury, while also praising his first-half performance.

“In the first half, it was one of the best he’s played with us. He felt something muscular, so we have to wait and learn the extent of that,” Arteta was quoted by Mirror Football.

The Spanish tactician also faces another potential setback after midfielder Martin Zubimendi was also withdrawn in the second half following a knock.
