Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has urged for calm despite his side opening up a four-point gap at the Premier League summit, insisting it is “too early” to say they are pulling away from other title contenders.
He played down the title talk on Sunday after the Gunners defeated visiting Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
Eberechi Eze scored the only goal of the encounter against his former team in the 39th minute with a spectacular scissors kick inside the box.
Manchester City, who kicked off at the same time, lost 1-0 to Aston Villa.

Prior to this, Brentford had beaten Liverpool 3-2 at the Gtech Community Stadium, while Sunderland defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
These results mean Arsenal are now four points clear at the top of the table, and six and seven points ahead of their main challengers, City and Liverpool respectively.
Speaking after his team edged past Palace, Arteta said, “I think it was a really positive weekend for us, especially because we did what we had to do.”
He added, “It shows the difficulty of the league and how complicated it is to win these games. But it’s still too early to say we are pulling away.”
