Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has refused to blame his captain, Martin Odegaard after his error cost the Gunners in their Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Arteta’s men after the 1-0 loss at City Ground handed Manchester City, who have now won the English league title 5 times in six campaigns this season’s trophy.
During the encounter against Forest, Odegaard gave the ball away in midfield, which allowed Morgan Gibbs-White to race through toward Arsenal’s box.

The error eventually proved costly after Nigerian international, Taiwo Awoniyi profited from Gibbs-White’s pass and scored the only goal of the match.
Forest’s narrow win means Man City retained their Premier League title with three games to spare and without kicking a ball.
Arteta speaking about the Norway international’s error at his post-match press conference after the game insisted that the former Real Madrid midfielder should not be made a scapegoat for Arsenal’s latest defeat.
He said: “We should not look for excuses or start to put the guilt on someone [Odegaard], it is about that.
“We should have been better as a team and in the last few weeks, we have fallen short.”
