Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta has revealed that Gunners’ winger, Noni Madueke picked up an injury during the league match against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.
He made this known on Sunday evening while speaking with journalists after Pep Guardiola’s men forced his side to a 1-1 draw.
Despite Arsenal’s dominance in the encounter, it was Erling Haaland who opened the scoring for Man City in the 9th minute.
However, a 93rd-minute equaliser from substitute, Gabriel Martinelli ensured the hosts salvaged a score draw.
Former Chelsea forward, Madueke was Gunners’ most potent attacking threat during the otherwise frustrating first half, but was later replaced by Bukayo Saka at half-time.
Speaking after the game, Arteta confirmed that the England international suffered an injury during the game, and was unable to continue after the break.
He said, “He had an issue very early in the match and he wasn’t well enough to continue.”
Madueke’s injury is another blow for Arteta, who was also without his captain, Martin Odegaard and defender, Piero Hincapie during the game.
