According to a statement made available to TheNiche by the airline’s spokesman, Ola Adebanji.

The decision is coming on the heels of the sanction already meted out to the Arik staff by the management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), who was alleged to have solicited bribe from a travelling passenger.

He said: “The management of Arik Air (in Receivership) has suspended with immediate effect one of its staff caught by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for soliciting bribe at the domestic wing of the Murtala Mohammed International, Ikeja, Lagos, pending further investigations.

“While the management conducts its own internal investigation, we wish to reassure FAAN of our cooperation on this matter if further investigation is required”.

Adebanji added that Arik will fully support what FAAN is doing to rid Nigeria’s airports of the menace of corruption.

According to Henrietta Yakubu, FAAN’s spokeswoman, the erring staff has had her on duty card revoked immediately, and she has been handed over to relevant security agency for appropriate action to serve as a deterrent to other bad eggs in the airport
