Ariana Grande shuns BBL in lie detector test

Ariana Grande, American singer and actress, has refused to join the female rat race for Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a surgery some women undergo to enlarge their bottom in their quest to attract men.

A few celebrity women across the world, including in Nollywood, have died during or after the procedure. That dies not deter others from going for it, but Grande insisted she will not do it because it will not work for her.

Grande, 31, explained in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that she is comfortable with her physique.

“No, that wouldn’t work for me. I don’t think that’s my thing. And I’m ok with that, you know?”

However, she expressed support for those opting for plastic surgery.

“Whatever makes women, men, non-gender conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed. Why do we care?”

USA TODAY reports that Grande also shared more in Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test series, taking turns answering and asking questions with her cover story partner and Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo.

Erivo’s cheeky questions verged from whether the moon landing was fake to the pop star’s history with plastic surgery.

Erivo went through a list of plastic surgery procedures with the former child star confirming whether she had any, including a breast augmentation, nose job and facelift, the latter of which she answered, “Not yet. I’m open.”

When asked about a fox eye lift, which she is frequently speculated to have gotten, she replied: “No, but I discovered it through people who thought I did, and I said, ‘Thank you.'”

When Erivo asked the singer whether she had ever gotten a BBL, the singer was amused. “Get the (expletive) out of here,” before jokingly adding, “Yes.”

Asked if she’d ever consider getting the procedure, Grande said, “No. That wouldn’t work for me. I don’t think that’s my thing. And I’m OK with that.”

Grande eventually confirmed that the only procedures she has ever gotten are “fillers in various places and Botox” but clarified, “I stopped like four years ago.”

After her lie detector experience, Grande, who has pushed back in recent years against comments about her physical appearance, seemed to feel a bit vindicated.

“This is the best day of my life,” the “Victorious” alum said of passing the test with flying colors. “Take that you YouTube people.”
