Barcelona defender, Ronald Araujo, has hit out at Alejandro Garnacho for his celebration during Man United’s UEFA Europa League win over the La Liga leaders.

The Red Devils recently eliminated Barcelona and qualified for the next round of the Europa League after beating Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate.

Garnacho, who came off the bench in the second half and was a constant menace down the left flank celebrated the win in a manner that caused a stir.

The 18-year-old made a ‘binoculars’ gesture with his hands which appeared to mock Pedri’s trademark celebration after the final whistle.

Garnacho later uploaded a picture of the gesture to Instagram alongside the caption, “The big team advanced to the next round” – a remark that did not go down well in Spain.

Reacting to the gesture, Araujo hit out at Garnacho, advising the Spanish-born Argentine to be more humble saying he has a long way to go in the game.

Asked if he was upset by Garnacho’s behaviour, Araujo told Infobae: “Yes. Everyone expresses what they want, but it was not the time to post that.

“I respect everyone, and I think humility is important, but I prefer to respond on the field.

“He is still young, has a long way to go. I think you have to be humble.”

Barcelona who play Real Madrid on Sunday are currently 9 points ahead of their arch-rivals, they can take a 12 points lead if they win the ‘El-Classico’ billed for Camp Nou.
