A new first class monarch of Afa Okeagbe, the Arole Agba1 Okeladeokin, Oba Mofolorunso Samuel Adegboyega Arasanyin has been installed as the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe Akoko in Akoko North West local government area of Ondo state
The installation followed the approval of the State Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa yesterday at the Executive Council meeting in Akure, the state capital.
It will be recalled that the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe stool became vacant when Oba Oladunjoye Fajana transited to the great beyond last year after 32 years of peaceful reign.
However, the new monarch was at the palace on Wednesday for an official installation which was performed by the kingmakers.
The installation of the Monarch was a celebration of culture, traditions, and unity as it showcased the rich heritage of the community.
He is billed to commence the traditional rites immediately as he will retreat to the confinement at High Chief Olukoju’s place in Odoko, Igoye, for the next three months before his coronation.
Meanwhile, the Odofin Ogboye of Afa Okeagbe, Chief Olumuyiwa Asagunla and his Olori have congratulated the new monarch, Oba Mofolorunso Adegboyega Arasanyin, on his installation as the Ajana Afa, Okeagbe Akoko.
“As the saying goes, ‘what God has destined to be will surely be. We are thrilled to see the fulfillment of this in our newly installed first class monarch.
“We celebrate this momentous occasion with the entire Afa community, knowing that Oba Arasanyin’s enthronement will bring peace, prosperity, and growth to Afa and Okeagbe Akoko by extension”, he said
Asagunla therefore said that the installation ceremony marked a new era in the Afa community, and we are honored to be actively involved in it.
