In a clear departure from its core domain, Apple is set to launch a streaming service today to take on the likes of NetFlix, Hulu and Amazon Prime.

The maker of iPhone and iMac computers devices seeks to diversify as sales from its flagship product, the iPhone has dwindled over the past year.

Apple will also include tons of original content from sci-fi films to comedies with a star-studded line-up of talented performers.

The company is also reported to have spent about $2billion to sign on big names like Oprah Winfrey, Spielberg among others like M Night Shyamalan, Damian Chazelle and several others.

Reports have it that the company is building a new content store focused on offering bundles with cable services like HBO, Showtime and Starz.

Apple may be looking to disrupt Cable TV by seeking to become a cable TV provider itself.

Other reports have it that Apple might offer three months trial period for their new service with different subscription plans depending on the resolution consumers select – 4K or FHD.
