Apostolic Faith School announced new appointments

The National Management Board of the Apostolic Faith Secondary Schools National Board (AFSNB) has appointed Mr. Idowu Olagookun as the new Principal in the branch of the School in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Alongside Mr. Olagookun’s appointment, Mrs Oluwasde Ruth Alabi has been named Vice-Principal of the school.

They are to assume duty beginning from the date of their assumption of office in January, 2025.

The new leadership team is expected to build on the school’s successes to even greater heights in academic and administrative excellence.

The event held at the school premises in Akure was attended by parents, teachers, director and the outgoing school principal, Mrs Ilemobola Asogbon, representatives of the Proprietor, Rev. Joseph Aro among others.

Earlier in his address, the Proprietor of the school, Rev Joseph Aro represented by Rev. Henry Akinbobola said the day’s event is remarkable.

He appreciated the retiring officers for their commitment to the development of the school stressing that the world is revolving stage that is not stable and change is inevitable.

He, however, wished them divine guidance and success in their future endeavours.

To the new leadership, he charged them to adopt better administrative strategies and continue in the path of great leadership by upholding high standards

He also used the opportunity to admonish the students to put in their best as the future is theirs as no heights is unattainable

In his short sermon titled: “The Mystery of the Lord’s Return” by the the Board Akure AFSS, Mr. Paul Olopha said the signs of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ for the rapture of the saints are all very much around with us.

“The Lord Jesus went up into heaven ascending on a cloud in His spiritual body, so He’ll certainly return in the same way, appearing to us on a cloud. Many biblical prophecies have now been fulfilled—the Lord will soon return. We must believe He will come and the trumpet shall sound. We shoud make ourselves ready to be rapturable ” Olopha said

In his speech, the outgoing Principal Mrs. Ilemobola Asogbon appreciated the management saying she has no regrets whatsoever.

She admonished students to continue in the path of greatness while also charging the new leadership to build upon the legacies.

Other highlights of the celebration include special presentations such as choreography, dance and Christmas Carol by students

In his acceptance speech the new principal, Olagookun appreciated all parents and teachers for their steadfastness and support towards making the citadel of learning envy of rivals in terms of academic excellence and moral values.

“I am also assuring you today that with your cooperation and support with the new management of the school, you will definitely have value for money, he said

The principal therefore reassured his commitment to the welfare and well-being of students and staff of the school and solicited for the support of the parents and teachers for the new school leadership.

In his address, the Chairman, Parent Teacher Association of the school, PT Mr. Omoloye Oluwatuyi expressed gratitude to parents for their support of school programs always

He therefore appealed to the new Principal to ensure that every words of his statement come to reality and wished the new leadership a successful tenure.

“PTA is a relevant body to support the progress of the school. It is a vehicle (by) which stakeholders come together to see how to move the school forward.’’ he said
