Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries and Abuja-based human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, have condemned the latest attack in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, blaming it on the poor leadership currently existing in the country.
Speaking via a post shared on his social media platform, Suleman accused leaders of prioritising political interests over the safety of citizens.
He also criticised what he called “bad priorities,” saying that officials are more interested in political maneuvering than dealing with insecurity.
He wrote, “The Jos attack is another sign that leadership is failing,” pointing out that it reflects “leadership that puts politics before protecting people’s lives.”
Apostle Suleman added, “Instead of wasting our shared heritage on pre-election parties and pre-kingdom preparations, future generations will decide whether this leadership now supports, allows, and repeats what it once strongly opposed.”
The cleric went on to say that although prayers are important, they cannot substitute for good leadership and decisive action.
“I believe in the power of prayer, but prayer alone cannot take the place of responsibility. We need compassionate leaders. These current individuals show no sign of empathy. We’re exhausted; it’s incredibly draining,” he added.

Suleman further sympathised with the families affected by the attack and offered prayers for their strength during this difficult time.
Similarly, activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju decried the recurring killings in Plateau State and other parts of the country in a formal statement.
He described the situation as a clear indication of weak leadership and governance, adding that the repeated attacks on citizens are alarming and raise serious doubts about the government’s capacity to safeguard lives and property.
Furthermore, he faulted the response of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress-led administration, warning that the ongoing violence is creating a perception that the country lacks effective leadership.
He stressed that failing to curb the violence undermines public confidence and hampers national development.
Adeyanju said: “The continued killings in Plateau State and other parts of Nigeria are heartbreaking and deeply troubling. It is increasingly difficult to understand how citizens can be attacked and killed repeatedly, with no clear solution in sight.
“The conduct of the President and the APC-led government in this regard is creating the impression that Nigeria effectively has no government, and it sends a terrible message both to Nigerians and to the rest of the world.”
