APC expels Oyo Assembly Deputy Speaker for anti-party activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has expelled the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Musa Abdulwasi, for alleged anti-party activities.

The party accused the lawmaker of breaching provisions of Article 21 of the APC Constitution.

A letter written by the Saki West chapter of the party and signed by chairman, Mr. Tiamiyu Ayinla, and secretary, Mr. Adeniji S.A., which was copied to the state governor, Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Chairman House Committee on APC Caucus, Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman APC Oyo State Chapter, alleged that the Mr. Abdulwasi’s conduct was embarrassing the party.

“We have observed with keen interest your anti-party activities and conducts which have brought a serious embarrassment to the electorate who voted you into office and under the APC Saki West Local Government , into the Oyo State legislative assembly,” the letter read in part.

“Your meetings and photographs as published in the national dailies have also shown and indicated that you are no longer a party member and card carrying member of APC.

“As a result of these offences committed by you, against the party and a breach of the provision of our party constitution, are tantamount to the provision of article 21.

“You are hereby expelled from the party, as you no longer represent the interest of those who voted you into power.

“The entire members of your constituency hereby pass vote of no confidence on you.”
