APC also won in Ogori-Magongo Local Governmentarea of the state, where a woman clinched the chairmanship position

The ruling All Progressive Congress, (APC), has swept the 21 Local Government Chairmanship seats and 239 councillorship slots in Kogi in the election held on Saturday.
This was disclosed on Saturday night by the Kogi State Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), Mamman Eri.
While announcing the results, he noted that the election was peaceful, free, fair and credible, adding that the results had already been declared at various collation centres by the respective returning officers.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a woman clinched the chairmanship seat in the Ogori-Magongo Local Government of the state.
Declaring the results of the election, Eri said, “APC performed excellently; it cleared all the chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving nothing to the other 18 political parties that took part in the election.
“The results declared at the headquarters were earlier declared at the various collation centres by the respective returning officers.
“As chairman of KOSIEC, I hereby confirm the results earlier collated and returned by the returning officers.”
He went on to thank the electoral officials, security operatives, observers and newsmen for their support that made the election a success.
