The All Progressives Congress (APC), has refuted claims that the national leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso is planning to join the ruling party, saying it is being speculated.
This was disclosed on Sunday by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka during an interview with Channels Television.
Following the resignation of APC’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, there were reports that Kwankwaso is planning to dump NNPP for the ruling party.
However, while reacting to the rumours, Morka said such a decision is yet to be reached.
When asked about the possibility of the former Kano State governor jumping ship, he said, “The party I speak for has said nothing about Kwankwaso possibly joining”
He added, “We have not made that determination and are not able to make it at the moment.”
Speaking further, the ruling party’s mouthpiece waved aside claims making the rounds that possible internal issues are affecting the party’s operations.
He also said APC is running smoothly, adding that people will always speculate.
“The party is running as it should. People are entitled to have their moments, but that does not indicate dysfunction,” Morka further said.
