A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State and former party chairman in Ido/Osi Local Government, Chief Femi Afolabi, has applauded the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to adopt Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) as its consensus candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Chief Afolabi, who spoke while addressing youths in Ido-Ekiti, described the decision as a “welcome development” that truly reflects the collective will and aspirations of the Ekiti people.

He lauded Governor Oyebanji as a compassionate and visionary leader who has brought visible dividends of democracy to the state through purposeful leadership and people-centered policies.

The APC leader, a veteran journalist and member of the Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund, also reaffirmed the strong support of the Ekiti North Senatorial District for Senator Cyril Oluwole Fasuyi, noting that the lawmaker has been “responsive and impactful in all areas of development.”

According to him, “Ekiti North has never had it so good as under Senator Fasuyi, whose numerous developmental strides continue to touch lives across the district.”

Afolabi urged residents, particularly in Ekiti North, to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing that a second term for Governor Oyebanji will ensure the consolidation of ongoing development efforts in the state, while Senator Fasuyi will continue to deliver quality representation and democratic dividends to the people.
