Nigerians have hailed former president of the senate, Anyim Pius Anyim, for his declaration to contest the presidency in 2023, saying he exemplifies courage and focus.

On Twitter, at least 120 tweets in the last 24 hours referenced Anyim’s declaration for Nigeria’s presidency, and commended him for indicating the interest to vie for the number one office in the land early enough.

The tweets urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to hand Anyim the presidential ticket of the party because he embodies the stuff of a leader who knows what they are doing.

A tweet from @Ade_Nurayn said: “PDP should consider the SE for its 2023 Presidential Ticket. The region is largely loyal to the party and should be compensated with such a ticket. Senator Pius Anyim has declared his intention to run in this regard. He should be considered”

Another tweet from @ayodomii added: “Senator Anyim Pius Anyim became the President of the Senate at the age of 39, and performed well. He became the Secretary to the Government of the Federation at 50, and performed well. He’s got the experience, the reach & capacity.”

@woye1 observed: “ANYIM PIUS ANYIM is a detribalized statesman. Charity begins at home. Support him before unknown outsider. Gold and silver are  worthless when it concerns home front.”

@CITIZENBC7 said: “”Pius Anyim has garnered the needed experience. He has been at the corridors of power. There is no file you can hide from him in Aso Rock. He is not a novice.”

For @AryiyoAristotle added: “No aspirant in the PDP has shown commitment to public concerns like @bukolasaraki. The Senate Presidency has made him a better leader. Also, Pius Anyim is rising. In the APC, it is evident that @ProfOsinbajo is topping the chart. The dark horse in APC is Dimeji Bankole.”
