Another explosion rocks Taraba community

The Nukkai explosion is coming three days after the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) armed group claimed responsibility for an explosion that it said killed or injured 30 people at a market.

Barely three days after an explosion occurred at International Cattle Market Iware, another explosion rocked Nukkai, a suburb of Jalingo in Taraba on Friday.

The Nukkai blast occurred under the cover of darkness occasioned by power outage in the area.

Hassan Danzumi, a witness close to the area, said that several people were injured, but no life was lost.

When Contacted, the spokesman of the Taraba police command, DSP Abdullahi Usman, confirmed that a bomb exploded in Nukkai. .

Usman said nine people were injured and couldn’t confirm any casualty.

On April 19, the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) armed group claimed responsibility for an explosion that it said killed or injured 30 people at a market where alcohol was sold in Taraba state, marking an expansion of the area where the ISIL affiliate operates.

The explosion took place in the rural town of Iware and  police initially said three people were killed and 19 injured.
