ANLCA boss, Nwabunike, says Otumba Folarin’s demise shocking

Nwanunike said: “Folarin was a believer in the emancipation of the Nigerian economy through a robust maritime sector. He left us even when we needed him the most.”

President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon.Tony Iju Nwabunike has expressed regret over the demise of Nigeria’s foremost erudite maritime personality and Chairman of Nigerian Port Consultative Forum (NPCF), Otunba Kunle Folarin.

In a statement on Tuesday, the respected ANLCA leader wrote from abroad where he is on a study leave stating that the late Otunba Folarin “impacted on me as an individual through his fatherly role in my early days and guided my path towards professionalism.”

According to Nwabunike, the death of the renowned maritime expert, “has left a void in our maritime industry where he has contributed immensely from his knowledge and experience.” He added that his contributions were, no doubt, invaluable to the Nigerian maritime industry.

He noted that Otunba Folarin was a believer in the emancipation of the Nigerian economy through a robust maritime sector, saying “Baba left us even when we needed him the most.”

Nwabunike condoled with the late Folarin’s widow, children, other members of his immediate family and the entire Nigerian maritime community.
