Everton’s dream of going fourth on the English Premier League (EPL) table, was halted by Nigeria-born Italian defender, Angelo Ogbonna.

It was a deserved win for the away side, which dominated proceedings throughout the match despite playing away to Everton.

However, for all their efforts in the first half, they were unable to get on the scoreboard and the match ended 0-0 in the first half.

West Ham continued to boss the game in the second half, but  Everton’s defense remained resolute.

They were eventually rewarded in the 74th minute when Ogbonna converted an assist from English midfielder, Jarrod Bowen, to score the first EPL goal of the day.

Everton upped their game towards the end of the second half, but the Hammers were just too good for them on the day.

West Ham did not only kill the top-four aspiration of Everton, but it also dislodged the Toffees from the sixth position.
