Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has singled out Arsenal captain, Martin Ødegaard for praise ahead of his team’s FA Cup third-round tie with the Gunners on Sunday at the Emirates.
Speaking to reporters on Friday ahead of the encounter, the Portuguese tactician praised Ødegaard despite his current form.
Neither Arsenal or Man United can afford a defeat in the match, as it would be damaging.
Mikel Arteta’s men are looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
United on their part, have failed to win any of their last six matches in all competitions, the last being their 2-2 draw at Anfield last week.

The Red Devil on their last visit to the Emirates lost 2-0 in a Premier League clash, with both goals coming from set pieces.
Arsenal’s reliance on corners and free-kicks has been well documented this season, but despite Ødegaard’s lack of goals and assists, Amorim believes the Norwegian remains one of the best playmakers in the game.
He also asserted that Arsenal is a different side whenever Ødegaard is in the team.
He said, “I think he is really special because his influence on all the games of Arsenal is impressive.
“I played against them with Sporting and he didn’t play in both games, and you feel it in the team. When he’s playing, Arsenal are a different team.”
