Amorim also noted that “in 10 games in the English Premier League (EPL)”, Man United have only “won two” encounters

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has admitted that his current squad may be the “worst” in the history of the club after they lost 3-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Yankuba Minteh put the Seagulls ahead in the 5th minute, only for Bruno Fernandes to restore parity for United from the penalty spot soon after following Carlos Baleba’s foul on Joshua Zirkzee.
But the visitors took control after the break, with Kaoru Mitoma putting them ahead before substitute Georginio Rutter capitalised on a poor mistake by Andre Onana to seal the win.
The first 2025 league defeat leaves the Red Devils stuck in the bottom half of the English Premier League (EPL) table, as they are now 13th.
On the other hand, visiting Brighton moved up to the ninth position on the log table.

Speaking after the loss Amorin said, “In 10 games in the Premier League, we won two.”
He added, “Imagine what this is for a fan of Manchester United. Imagine what this is for me.
“So we are getting a new coach who is losing more than the last coach. I have full knowledge of that.
“Like I said, I’m not going to change, no matter what. I know we can succeed, but we need to survive this moment. Because I’m not naive and I know that we need to survive now.
“We are maybe the worst team in the history of Manchester United. I know that you want headlines, but I’m saying that because we have to acknowledge it and change it. Here you go, your headlines.”
Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes’ penalty was United’s only shot on target during their loss to Brighton.
