President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, said the conferment of the Dan Amana Daura (trusted son of Daura) title on the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, is a clear commitment to the harmonious relationship between the nation’s diverse cultures.
Amaechi will be conferred with the prestigious title on Saturday in Daura, Buhari’s hometown.
Buhari on Friday sent messages of congratulations to Amaechi, two-time Director General of his election campaigns, and Nasiru Haladu Danu, a businessman, both of them chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on the conferment of the chieftaincy titles on them by the Daura Emirate Council.

In the statement by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari described the conferment of the title of “Dan Amana,” to Amaechi as a clear commitment to the harmonious relationship between the nation’s diverse cultures.
Alhaji Danu is being turbaned as Tafida Babba of Daura.
Buhari commended Amaechi “for working with enormous energy to make the change we promised Nigerians a reality,” noting that “the change we are witnessing in the transport sector is an extraordinary legacy.”
Shehu said though Buhari will not be at the event, he has designated a delegation of three, made up of the Ministers of Water Resources, Engineer Sulaiman Adamu, Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, and himself to represent him.
A statement from the Ministry of Transportation said Amaechi is being honoured with the traditional title in recognition of his contributions to the socio-economic development of the country, especially for his effort in bringing to life the rail sector that has been moribund for over three decades.
