Allegri believes a seven-point gap is almost insurmountable for AC Milan, given the strength of their local rivals, Inter.

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has stated arch-rivals Inter Milan remain favourites to win this season’s Serie A title, despite their Milan derby defeat at the San Siro.
The Italian tactician made his views known on Sunday night during a post-match interview after AC Milan defeated Inter 1-0 in a tense Serie A fixture.
A 31st-minute goal from Pervis Estupiñán ensured Allegri’s side won the encounter, cutting the gap between the two clubs to seven points.

The victory leaves Milan in second place in the Serie A table on 60 points, while the league leaders remain on 67 points with 10 games remaining.
While it is still mathematically possible to leapfrog Inter, Allegri believes a seven-point deficit is almost impossible to overturn given his rivals’ form.
“Inter have a seven-point lead,” he told DAZN Italia, as quoted by Football Italia.
“That is a big advantage; they are still the strongest team and the clear favourites.”
