Despite allegations of summary executions, kidnapping and torture levelled against the Officer-in-Charge of Awkuzu Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Patrick Agbazue and his team, they have regained freedom, according to blogger, Gistlover.
Recall that Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, had commended Gistlover for exposing the alleged rogue police officers, including Chief Superintendent of Police, Patrick Agbazue, a Superintendent of Police, Princess Nkeiruka Nwode, and an Inspector, Harrison Akama. They were alleged to be involved in kidnapping, murder, organ harvesting and extortion.
Gistlover had published pictures, videos of some of their victims, and account details to show how Agbazue and his team, move money from their victims’ account to a POS agent, who also is a police officer, before taking the money back to their account. The blogger also gave the name of the morgue were they deposit the bodies of their victims and provided the contact of the morgue operator.
One of the pathetic disclosures was of a man who still hopes that his son and daughter arrested by the squad would still return home. Unknown to him, his son has been murdered while his daughter is being held at the facility for the sexual gratification of her captors.
Gistlover showed a video of the brutalized son admitting to be a member of Eastern security network, a confession made under duress. He was eventually killed, the report says, while his sister is being held in Akwuzu.
The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, immediately set up a panel to investigate the allegations and ordered the arrest of the suspects.
Gistlover immediately protested the constitution of the panel, alleging that some of the members were friends with Agbazue.
But Gistlover has now alleged that the killer squad has been released.
The squad members were released less than 24 hours after they were arrested and a panel set up by the IGP to probe the allegation.
According to Gistloverblog, the leader of the team, CSP Patrick Chukwuemeka Agbazue, after he and his members were released yesterday, went to celebrate with his men, with sporadic gunshots into the air.
Patrick was heard to have repeatedly mentioned, “Power Pass Power,” according to Gistlover.
