Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, has expressed solidarity for his manager, Arne Slot, after reportedly dropping Mohamed Salah from the Reds’ squad to face Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) on Tuesday.
While speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slot disclosed that the Egyptian winger was left out of Liverpool’s squad due to his recent controversial comments about the “club putting him under the bus”.
Reacting to the development, Alisson suggested that Salah’s omission from the team’s squad was a consequence of his action.
He, however, added that he does not think the winger wanted to disrespect their manager, adding that he hopes he will still play for Liverpool after the incident.

He went on to back Slot, noting that he guided Liverpool to win the Premier League title last season.
“Salah not being available is a consequence of what he did. He’s smart enough to know that,” Becker was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying.
“We have had a good relationship for a long time; he’s a legend for Liverpool. We will have a conversation, but it’s going to be private because it’s personal.
“I don’t think Mo Salah wanted to disrespect anyone… he just had the freedom to talk how he feels about his own situation.
“I really hope he plays for Liverpool again. But that’s between Mo and the club, not me.
“Do I back Arne Slot? Of course, yes. He led us to the Premier League title last season. Looks like everyone takes for granted what we achieved last season.
“That should be enough, but we believe in his knowledge, his style of playing.”
