Algeria airline reports ‘lost contact’ with aircraft

The national ‎airline of Algeria, Air Algerie, has announced losing contact with one of its aircrafts which is mid-air.

 

Contact with the plane, flying in from Burkina Faso, was lost about 50 minutes after take-off from Ouagadougou.

The airline is quoted by Algeria’s state news agency as saying the passenger airline was bound for Algiers, it added.

 

It is unclear how many passengers were aboard the flight AH 5017, but what has been established so far is that contact with the plane has been declared lost.

A total of 116 passengers are thought to be on board the aircraft. According to the French minister, the disappearance occurred when the plane was flying over nothern part of Mali. And although no foul play has been reported, nothing is ruled out.
