A 2012 Winner of the Tuscany Prize for Catholic Fiction and author of Wild Spirit, Pita Okute, describes Beautiful Thief and Other Stories as a remarkable entrée of promising literary ability.

Filmmaker and Cinematographer, Alex Byanyiko, is set to launch his new book, Beautiful Thief & Other Stories.
The book, a variety of engaging fiction will be unveiled on June 12 at the RMRDC auditorium in Maitama Abuja by 2 pm.
Among the stories in the Beautiful Thief are; a teenage love affair built on shaky foundations that flourishes to a climax of crazy adventure, a servant of God who finds his life changing to the tune of marital disagreements, the story of Milicent who has to make tough choices as she seeks to speak the truth and, a father who pulls a desperate move to save his daughter’s life.

The book, mostly inspired by real-life events, is also a path-defining literary work that explores aspects of the culture and traditions of the Gbagyi people, primarily found in the middle belt of Nigeria.

Byanyiko is a multi-talented Nigerian and a prolific writer who contributes exciting columns for TheNiche.
He worked for six years with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) as a producer, and quit to pursue his passion for filmmaking. Among his films are The Wrong Number and Mr Rendel.

Byanyiko also occasionally does music, and one of his songs is ‘Getting High’, a rap track on the dangers of drugs.
He is also the director of a hit gospel song, ‘Oluwa Mi.’
