A Philanthropist, Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade (Rtd), has empowered over 2,000 youths and adults in Akoko North East Local government area of Ondo state to become entrepreneurs and run successful business ventures, as part of efforts to trim unemployment rate in the country.Those who trained in a week Skill Acquisition Programme were alsoΒ empowered with start-up capital.
They were trained in Cosmetology, Make-up & Gele, Cake & confectioneries and Fashion Design to a certified level.
Alade, a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, (APC) who is eyeing Senate seat in Ondo North Senatorial District while addressing the participants at Ikare Akoko yesterday advised them to be self- reliant and not wait for white collar jobs.
According to him, getting the right skills is a good start saying thatΒ the programmeΒ was to prepare them adequately to face the future as the leaders of tomorrow.
While congratulatingΒ them all for their excellent performances in various course of study, he advised them to utilize what they have learnt so far to better their lives and also try to help people in their own little ways.
In his address, the Coordinator of Samuel Ilesanmi Alade Project, Prince Dayo Bello said his was impressed about the training programme because it wears a different look even more than the past ones conducted in Akoko North West local government.
Also speaking,b the Chairman of Akoko North East, Hon Ashinmi Omodola appreciated Rear Admiral Alade for his good gesture towards his local government youths and adult.
Earlier in his address, the Bishop Akoko Anglican Diocese, Bishop Bada explain his view about Alade and his way of helping people saying that Alade is a man of good share, a man who devote himself in helping needy and a moses of our time.Β
He, therefore, prays for more abundant grace on him towards his career.
