Prominent Nigerians on Monday in Abuja continued to visit the official residence of Vice President Namadi Sambo to commiserate with him over the death of his younger brother, Sabo Sambo.
Sambo, a pilot, aged 58 years, died on Sunday in a ghastly motor accident on Airport Road, Abuja.

Prominent among the sympathisers were state governors, leadership and members of the National Assembly, members of the Federal Executive Council, leaderships of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and the ongoing National Conference.
Among the governors were Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom); Idris Wada (Kogi); Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe); Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta); Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara); Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), and James Ngilari (Deputy governor, Adamawa).
Akpabio, told newsmen that Sambo’s death was a sad development for the country.
He also described the deceased as a diligent pilot who trained several younger ones.
The governor said it was more shocking that Sambo died when his service was needed most.
He urged the vice president and his family to take solace in “God who gives and takes”.
‘‘It is unfortunate, but we believe that God gives and takes. We pray that God will give the president and vice president the fortitude to bear the loss. It is a loss to the entire nation and indeed his immediate family.
‘‘It is a sad thing in this country but we cannot question God. It is from Him we came and to Him we shall return,’’ he said.
Individuals and groups that visited offered special prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for the bereaved family.
President Goodluck Jonathan, had on his arrival from his home state, Bayelsa, on Sunday, paid a condolence visit to his vice at the Aguda House, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
