The Senate President said, “As we mark this significant occasion, I reflect on the state’s tremendous progress and resilience since September 23, 1987. As governor for 8 years, I also contributed my quota to the development of our people and the state and I must appreciate your generosity for the confidence you reposed in me and the opportunity you accorded me to serve the state in that capacity.
“I must pay tribute to all the past governors and others who have served the state in different capacities for their contributions. Under Governor Umo Eno’s leadership, Akwa Ibom continues to thrive, driven by his inclusive and visionary approach.
“To my fellow Akwa Ibomites, I urge you to continue rallying behind us your sons and daughters, in positions of authority, and Governor Umo Eno’s administration, working together towards a brighter future for our beloved state. May this anniversary inspire renewed hope, unity, and progress,” he stated.
