Popular socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has mocked former President Goodluck Jonathan, saying he “still sees himself as that child without shoes,” following his recent visit to President Bola Tinubu.

The former president was spotted at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Friday, where he reportedly went to congratulate Tinubu after the Supreme Court affirmed his election.

Jonathan, after a closed-door meeting with the incumbent president, noted that election matters were now over and that it was time to move on and support Tinubu.

Among other things, the Bayelsa-born politician also said it was time past presidents of the country closed ranks and devised solutions that would help the masses wriggle out of poverty.

Reacting to the visit via her X handle, formerly Twitter, Aisha Yesufu who seems unimpressed with the words spoken by the ex-president chastised him.

According to her, the same attitude Jonathan displayed during his visit to the presidential villa was why he lost the 2015 election to former Head of State,  Muhammadu Buhari, a man he easily defeated in 2011.

She went on to assert that he failed when he was in the saddle, stating that Nigerians only praised him because of Buhari’s failures.

Taking to her social media page, she tweeted: “Jonathan still sees himself as that child without shoes.

“Perfect example of law of the lid playing out.

“What I have been saying for years. He made Buhari an option. A man he easily defeated in 2011.

“Even the killings under his administration, he always found them amusing. People romanticised his administration and had Buhari’s failure turning him into the hero he never was.”
