Super Eagles captain and Sivasspor winger, Ahmed Musa in his bid to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian masses has decided to sell Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as ‘petrol’ at a reduced price in his filling station located in Kano State.

The country woke up to a new adjusted PMS pump price by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on July 18, after an initial sharp increase in June.

While the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) fixed the new price of PMS at N617 per litre in the nation’s capital Abuja, it increased that of Kano State to N620 a litre.

The decision led to the criticism of the Tinubu-led administration, who despite removing fuel subsidy after taking over the mantle of leadership on May 29, is yet to implement palliative measures that will cushion the effect of the hike in the price of PMS on the masses.

Motorists in the state have since applauded his thoughtful gesture, as one Usman Muhammad stated after buying fuel, “It’s a welcome development; I can now save some money instead of buying at a higher cost.”

Ahmed Musa built the filling station in 2018, he also owns a sports and fitness centre in the Kano State capital.
