Former Manchester City forward, Sergio Aguero, has insisted that the signing of Kylian Mbappe by Spanish club, Real Madrid does not guarantee that they will win the UEFA  Champions League (UCL) this year.

The Argentine, however, admitted that having Mbappe at the club makes the La Liga champions a “bigger threat”

Real Madrid lifted the UCL trophy for a record 15th time last season and have since landed Mbappe as a free agent this summer.

Since his arrival in Spain, the 23-year-old French striker has scored four goals in his first six matches.

Aguero, speaking on behalf of Stake, admitted that Madrid are favourites to win the competition again, but it would need team work.

He also argued that there are some other good teams who would give the La Liga giants a run for their money.

He said, “Nobody’s ever been able to count Real Madrid out. No need to say that. Mbappe joining them only serves to make them a bigger threat.

“I think he’s a shoo-in to be La Liga’s next Pichichi (top scorer). Nevertheless, a single player doesn’t make the difference. The team does.

“There’s many of those vying to take the Championship, and they’ll fight tooth-and-nail for it.”
