Singer African China and his children have joined the #30DaysRantChallenge started on TiTok by Raye (born Rita Ushie Uguamaye), a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in Lagos, who launched the campaign against social and economic hardship earlier this month.
There has been a groundswell of participation in the challenge since its take off, especially by female Gen Zeers who, like Raye, lament the wastage of Nigeria’s resources by the current managers depriving the younger generation of a bright future.
African China, in a new single on social media, highlighted Nigeria’s lingering economic challenges and scored President Bola Tinubu with an F9 (the worst grade in West African Examination Council [WAEC] secondary school examination).
The Ajegunle-born singer tagged Tinubu’s regime as a terrible and corrupt government for failing to alleviate citizens’ pain.
In his latest single called Photocopy the musician wore an NYSC uniform to show solidarity with Raye who was initially harassed by overzealous NYSC officials for calling out Tinubu.
Raye’s harassment has encouraged more solidarity from other citizens who joined her in the #30DaysRantChallenge, in which individuals, including celebrities, take to social media to share their hardscrabble life under Tinubu’s watch.
