The AthIetics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) will later on Saturday hold another board meeting to strengthen plans for Africa Games in March, discuss audit reports and rejig some sub-committees.
AFN President Chief Tonobok Okowa disclosed this in a flash interview insisting that time is of essence and cannot be held down in making a headway for AthIetes to begin preparations for various AthIetic activities in the AFN calendar this year.
On the threats of boycott by some aggrieved board members following rumours of non listing of the audit report in today’s agenda, Chief Okowa said no item was excluded and insisted that the executive board meeting will go ahead as planned.
“The interest of AthIetes and growth of Nigerian sports supercedes that of any individual no matter how highly placed,” he said.
The Executive Board meeting is scheduled to start virtually at 4:00pm on Saturday. Jan. 6, 2024.
