Human rights lawyer and popular influencer, Deji Adeyanju has disclosed the root cause of the rift between Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
According to him, Fubara’s decision to reveal that Rivers’ Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) is N27 billion instead of the N11 billion previously declared by the FCT minister brought about their disagreement.
The activist lawyer made this known while featuring on a podcast by Glitch Africa Studio, The Honest Bunch.
Also speaking during the show, he described Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as a political party and part of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeyanju said: “If you give INEC water, they will turn it into wine, there is nothing INEC can’t do; what INEC can’t do does not exist.
“INEC is a political party and the current INEC is APC.
“Wike is fighting Fubara because about a year ago, he was declaring N11 billion as IGR. The same Fubara is declaring N27 billion and you say they should not fight?”
