A human rights activist and public affairs commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has aimed a dig at ex-Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai following his decision to opt out of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list.

TheNiche earlier reported that the Senate recently withheld El-Rufai’s confirmation and those of two others as ministers, citing security reports from the Department of State Services (DSS).

As a result, the former governor informed President Tinubu of his decision to let go of his ministerial slot and suggested a possible replacement for him.

Reacting to the development via his Twitter handle, Adeyanju called El-Rufai and Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi. “religious bigots’, saying it would make sense if they joined forces to contest in 2027.

He went on to say the combination of the ex-FCT Minister and the former Anambra State governor would be like a union made in heaven.

Taking to his social media page on Friday, Adeyanju tweeted: “But it will make a lot of sense if El-Rufai joins Labour Party. He will meet his fellow religious bigot there, and they can both run as presidential and VP candidates in 2027. They will fight their religious war together.

“Peter/El-Rufai 2027 ticket will be a strong one. A union made in Heaven. They both have bigotry and betrayal running in their DNA,”
