Former Nigeria international, Mutiu Adepoju, has been relieved of his duty as sole administrator of Kwara Football Academy (KFA) by Harmony Holdings after completing his two-year contract.
In his farewell speech, Adepoju thanked the Almighty God for a successful tenure and the grace to make a positive impact.
“During my tenure as the sole administrator of this great academy,” he said, “we were able to make some progress and surpassed our expectations.
“We won the State League Cup and represented Kwara at the Federation Cup; our coaches were trained and re-trained, and some of our exceptional players were sent abroad for trials with top clubs and some sold to Nigerian clubs for developmental programmes.
“I have never been in a place where my impact is not felt. Though we faced a lot of challenges we were able to overcome them. I know some would talk bad about me but am fulfilled within me and I don’t regret any of my decisions.
“If it is good or bad, I know I will be remembered for something in the history of the school.
Adepoju thanked the state government for giving him the opportunity to contribute to the development of football in Kwara, and advised the state to keep funding the Academy to achieve the goals and vision of Africa’s best football academy.
Harmony Holdings Head of Corporate Affairs, Kayode Aremu, praised his contribution to the academy, noting that he achieved all the targets set for him.
