Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Adekunle Olapade, has raised a similar concern expressed by human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju about participants of the TV reality show.
TheNiche had earlier reported that Adeyanju questioned if the winners of BBNaija reality show are actually handed their prizes.
According to him, many of them go broke despite winning a large sum of money.
Speaking via his X page, he wrote, “Do they really give BBNaija winners the prize money? The reason I am asking is because many of them end up looking extremely broke thereafter.”

Taking to his social media handle on Saturday, Adekunle echoed a similar view.
He pointed out that despite BBNaija being the biggest reality TV show in Africa, “there’s almost no success path after the show.”
He noted that the development left many former participants of the show struggling financially.
He went on to trace the ugly trend to Nigeria’s lack of a reality TV culture.
Adekune wrote, “Let me double down and say that BBN is the biggest reality tv show in Africa, but somehow, Nigeria does not have a Reality TV culture – there’s almost no certain success path after the show and most of the reality stars suffer for this.”
