Pastor Foluke Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has revealed a drastic decision she took after giving her life to Christ.

In a resurfaced video currently circulating on social media, she shared a personal sacrifice made during her early days with the church.

According to Pastor Foluke, before becoming “born again,” she had a strong passion for fashion and owned numerous gold items, including various pieces of jewellery.

She explained that she had even set aside some of these items for her young child, who was under two years old at the time.

However, after joining the church—where wearing such finery was discouraged—she made the bold decision to part with them entirely.

“Every woman loves fashion,” she said. “By the time we became born again, it was a taboo for you to have them.”

Rather than keeping or selling the valuables, she chose to throw all her gold possessions into the lagoon.

She recalled that a family friend had questioned her choice, suggesting she could have given the items to her mother to sell, but she declined.

“Whatever is not good for me is not good for my mother,” she explained.

Pastor Foluke also disclosed that she briefly turned to copper accessories as an alternative, admitting she spent a significant amount on them at the time.

Despite the scale of the sacrifice she made, she maintains that she has no regrets about taking those steps.

“What would I say I miss? Not much; I have already sold myself [to Christ],” she added.
