Suleiman Vokna has resigned as Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) Commissioner “to pursue other interests” that matter most to him, as he put it.

“I, Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, hereby formally announce my resignation from the position of Commissioner with the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), effective 17th October, 2025,” he said in a statement he personally signed.

“This decision was not made lightly. It stems from personal reasons and the desire to pursue other interests. After due reflection, I believe stepping aside at this time serves the best interest of both myself and the Commission.

“I wish to express my sincere appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, for the trust and confidence reposed in me through my appointment. It has been a profound honour and privilege to serve and contribute to the strengthening of democratic governance in our dear state.

“Throughout my tenure, I have remained steadfast to the core values of integrity, impartiality, and transparency, which underpin the credibility of any electoral institution.

“I am deeply proud of the collective achievements of the Commission and extend my heartfelt gratitude to my colleagues for their support, professionalism, and teamwork.

“As I take this step, I extend my best wishes to the Governor, the entire government of Adamawa State, and the leadership and staff of ADSIEC for continued success in the discharge of their vital responsibilities.

“Thank you once again for the opportunity to serve.”
